decades. In an exclusive interview to CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNTIES, ASOKTARU CHATTOPADHYAY,
PRESIDENT – SANDVIK ROCK PROCESSING SOLUTIONS, INDIA, speaks about the CSE industry, his
company’s product offerings, aftermarket services and the future of the CSE industry.
briefly give us an overview of the Crushing & Screening equipment
industry, the latest trends, current business drivers, sector challenges
and market dynamics. What are the types of crushing & screening
equipment currently most in demand?
Although the industry witnessed a slowdown due to the pandemic,
but we have been witnessing a quick recovery as well over the last
few months and this trend is likely to continue in future as well. I do
foresee a moderating slowdown again in 2024 owing to the General
Elections, however projects by the Central Government such as “Build
India” program and the roll out of nIP (national infrastructure pipeline)
with a planned investment of 1.4 trillion uSD on infrastructure, is a
huge counter to the slow down.
Having said that, the market for crushing and screening equipment
has grown enormously. In the stationary segment, the Impact
Crushers (VSI Crushers) have seen a growing demand especially in
the aggregate and manufactured sand segments. The market for
mobile crushing and screening solutions has also been seeing a
growing demand in the metal processing segment.
The road construction segment continues to remain strong, with
execution reaching a record high level of 13,300 (approx.) kms in
