Briefly give us an overview of the mining equipment industry, the latest
trends and market dynamics?
India’s mining equipment industry is entering a new phase of growth,
driven by the country’s increasing focus on energy security, critical
minerals and infrastructure development. Continued investments in
coal production, commercial mining, steel and cement capacity
expansion and the exploration of critical minerals are creating
sustained demand for high-performance mining equipment. At the
same time, the industry is witnessing a gradual shift from conventional
equipment to technologically advanced, fuel-efficient and connected
machines that deliver higher productivity, improved safety and lower
operating costs. India’s growing manufacturing capabilities and export
competitiveness are also positioning the country as an important
global hub for mining and construction equipment.
Looking ahead, the industry will be defined by greater mechanisation,
digitalisation and sustainability. Customers today are looking beyond
equipment specifications and evaluating the complete value
proposition, including telematics, predictive maintenance, automation
and lifecycle support that maximise machine uptime and operational
