Give us an overview on the CE industry, latest technology trends development in the country. Sales of construction equipment —
and market dynamics. What are the types of construction a barometer of economic activity — is expected to increase in
equipment currently in demand? healthy double digits in the ongoing financial year on the back
India is expected to become the world’s third largest construction of increased government spending on infrastructure projects,
market by 2023. India will require investment worth `50 trillion especially in road segment. Technology improvements have
($ 777.73 billion) across infrastructure by 2022 for a sustainable a substantial impact on businesses. However, there must be
real improvements, which means the technology must create
efficiencies that enhance productivity and quality, reduce
emissions, or save fuel consumption. Besides, technologies
must be user-friendly and have intuitive tools that help operators
leverage the investment.
Not too many years ago smaller contractors saw the technology
as something meant only for larger businesses. Small users were
less likely to pay for “experimental” technology that would require
lengthy training and, as some initially believed, few quantifiable
benefits. Improved telematics once again changed that by
providing hard numbers on fuel and labor savings, passes
avoided, and a host of quality control efforts. Those matter every
bit as much to small contractors, too.
The percentage of smaller contractors using the technology is
rising, and that number will continue to grow. Governments are
slow to adopt change, but some are beginning to require the
use of this technology. It eventually will become the norm when
bidding on jobsites, whether you’re a large or small contractor.
