catering to the Indian market for over 40 years. The brand has been a household name with its
exciting line up of innovative and intelligent machines. JASMEET SINGH, ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT,
CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS & CORPORATE RELATIONS, JCB INDIA LTD in an exclusive interview to
CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES, speaks about the participation at EXCON 2019, digitization of the
machines, tackling the economic slowdown and the path ahead.
Could you give us a brief overview of your launches and products
displayed at Excon?
JCB launched the Eco Excellence Backhoe in 2015-16 with 12 per
cent more efficient and 30 per cent cheaper maintenance. At
this edition of EXCON, we have upped the ante. The efficiency has
been increased by 10 per cent and the maintenance by around
20 per cent. In the last 4-5 years, we have brought down the diesel
consumption by 40 per cent on the machine. This leads to saving
around Rs 1 lakh per annum for our customers.
We have transformed from a backhoe loader company to a full
range infrastructure equipment player. This means that there are
multiple choices in excavators. We have the options of the long boom
excavator which reaches up to 50 meters. We have also displayed
some from the Quarry Master range. We have now launched a
separate section where these machines are specifically used for
quarry work. The customer gets the value for the money he spends.
As the industry moves more into digitization, how does JCB rope in
the new technology?
