CONTRACTS AWARDED

NHIDCL FOR Rs.5116 CR ROAD PROJECTS

The National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, which is a fully owned subsidiary of the Union Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways, has outlined plans to award contracts to the extent of Rs.5,116 crore covering 402 km of tough terrain roads in the north eastern states by the end of this fiscal. It is reported the contracts to be awarded will include 19 projects in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland tenders for some of which have already been floated. It is reported another 200 km will be awarded if the authorities are able to complete the existing bids. Till now the public sector company has issued 23 contracts covering 643 km of roads with contracts worth Rs.7,646 crore in Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh 

 

Value Rs. 1,734 cr.

L&T BAGS DHOLERA SMART CITY WORK

EPC major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded an Rs.1,734-crore EPC contract to work on the construction of Gujarat’s Dholera Smart City. The project touted as India’s largest greenfield smart city, falls comes under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). While an SPV has been created to manage the port city on a sustainable basis, Cube Construction Engineering Ltd. will construct the Administrative and Business Centre as part of a Rs.72.31 crore contract. It is reported the project is being jointly promoted by the DMIC and Dholera Special Investment Regional Development Authority (DSIRDA).

Rs.40,000 CR RAILWAY AWARDS

Indian Railways authorities has awarded contracts to General Electric Co and Alstom to set up diesel and electric locomotive factories in Bihar at a cost of about Rs.40,000 crore. While the diesel locomotive factory in Marhora will cost Rs.2,052 crore, the facility to manufacture electrical engines in Madhepura will necessitate an investment of Rs.1,293.57 crore. The projects monitored by the Prime Minister’s office will involve manufacture of 1,000 diesel locomotives and 800 electric locomotives over the next 10 years collectively worth about Rs.40,000 crore.

RPP INFRA JV BAGS IRRIGATION PROJECTS

A joint venture of RPP Infra Projects with Ramalingam Construction Company from Karnataka Neeravari Nigam (A Government of Karnataka Enterprise) has bagged a Rs.122.2 crore contract. The scope of work includes modernisation of the Gondi Main Canal and distributaries in Shimoga district amounting. The current order book of the company stands at Rs.754.41 crore and the timeline for project execution is FY 2017-18.  It is reported RPP Infra Projects is engaged in business of infrastructure development such as highway, roads, bridges, civil construction works, irrigation, water supply projects and power plants.

WESTERN DFCCIL CONTRACT AWARDED

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has awarded a consortium of Larson & Toubro, India, and Sojitz Corporation, Japan, a Rs.12.13 billion design-build contract to carry out electrification works on a 422 km section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor between Vadodara in Gujarat and Jawaharlal Nehru Port near Mumbai. The scope of work involves the construction of seven traction substations, 40 switching stations, 897 single-track-km of catenary, Scada works at 12 stations and an operational control centre, together with the supply of all associated equipment.

 

Value Rs. 120 cr.

NOIDA METRO BUS CONTRACT FOR MP GROUP

MP Group, a Pune-based provider of integrated support services, has secured a 10 year contract from the Noida Metro Rail Corporation to ply buses within Noida and Greater Noida. The company has developed a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to implement the NMRC project for City Bus Service operation. Each hi tech bus low floor air conditioned bus is expected to cost Rs.1 crore with the total cost of the fleet pegged at Rs.120 crore. The buses will be equipped with Intelligent Transport Management System which will connect to bus stops and facilitate information about real time availability through GPS and PIS technology. It is reported the bus network will traverse prominent areas with 13 different route plans.

Rs.430 CR PROJECTS AWARDED TO SHRIRAM

Shriram EPC has bagged contracts totally worth over Rs.430 crore. This includes project worth Rs.301.05 crore from the State of Chhattisgarh for executing road works of 50 km under the NHDP-IV on engineering, procurement and construction basis (EPC) to be completed over two years. The other project relates to rural water supply scheme worth Rs.137 crore awarded by the Jharkhand government for implementation in three groups of villages within a 33-month period.

HCC- VENSAR BAG MANIPUR ROAD CONTRACT

A joint venture of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd and Vensar Constructions Company Ltd has bagged a Rs.1114 crore contract from the Public Works Department of the Government of Manipur. The scope of work includes construction of lmphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong highway covering a total length of 111 km. the project which is a part of Asian Highway No1 is backed by Asian Development Bank and is to be completed in 42 months.
