PVC PIPE PLANT BEGINS PRODUCTION

Skipper Limited has begun trial production at its new PVC plant in Sikandrabad. The plant has an installed capacity for manufacturing 6000 MTPA of plumbing and agri pipes taking the total capacity of the company’s PVC business to 35,000 MTPA. The state of the art unit will cater to demand in the northern parts of the country. The company already has 3 PVC pipes and fittings manufacturing plants in Uluberia, Ahmedabad and Guwahati apart from the new plant. As part of its national expansion plans the company will soon be commissioning its fifth plant in Hyderabad.

 

 

RESIDENTIAL LUXE FROM NAHAR

The Nahar Group has announced plans to construct its new luxury residential project ‘Excalibur’ at Jacob Circle in Mumbai. The project is spread over an area of 1 lakh sq ft with each of the 36 flats measuring around 2400 sq ft. The ultra luxury project will feature world class amenities such as 12 feet living rooms, jacuzzi and cabanas on the terrace, internationally styled facilities management, luxury car parking, a huge jogging and walking track, classy salons, digital library, full wi-fi connectivity, meditation area and executive lounge The project has an end 2018 deadline for completion.

 

 

INDUSTRIAL BOOST FROM INDOSPACE

IndoSpace, a joint venture between the Everstone Group and US-based Realterm, is planning to invest up to $ 1billion in the next five years in its 17 own industrial real estate projects across the country to support manufacturing, consumer and 3PL firms. The company, which is India’s leading developer of industrial and logistics parks, has just signed two MoUs with the Maharashtra government for a potential investment of Rs.768 crore. Indospace will support the development of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation’s Chakan and Ranjangaon industrial parks. It is expected the investment will lead to the employment of up to 4,000 people.

 

 

NEW CRM SOFTWARE LAUNCHED

Daemon India has launched, DaeBuild, a real estate CRM Software specifically tailored for Indian real estate developers which offers a complete solution to the requirements of the sector. The ‘first-of-its-kind’ software tool will help both developers and their customers to manage inbound and outbound post sales customer interactions. Its document designer enables builders to automate sales deed, demand letters, and possession letters as per the need.

 

 

SAIL TO INVEST Rs.10,264 CR IN MINES

The Steel Authority of India Ltd has outlined plans to invest over Rs.10,200 crore on mine development as part of its modernisation and expansion programme. The steel giant is seeking to enhance its steel production capacity from 12.8 million tonnes per annum to 21.4 MTPA at an indicative investment of Rs.61,870 crore. While the programme is being undertaken at the Maharatna’s facilities in Bhilai, Bokaro, Rourkela, Durgapur and Burnpur as well as the special steel plant at Salem, it has also made a provision of Rs.10,264 crore for investment in mine development.

 

 

PORTAL FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL

A recently launched ecommerce portal for construction materials has become famous for raising $4 million from Puneet Dalmia, managing director of Dalmia Bharat Ltd in his personal capacity. With over 1,000 brands and 100,000 products, Glow Homes Technologies Pvt. Ltd owned Buildzar targets the home owner for the renovation market as well as SME contractors. It sells raw material as well as finished goods ranging from cement, steel, doors, paints, water purifiers, tiles, building cleaning and maintenance supplies, sand, RMX, bathroom fittings, bricks and blocks, plumbing fittings, electrical, stone aggregates and water tanks. It is reported the firm currently operating out of Gurgaon has at least 350 vendors listed on its website and plans to expand to other cities after six months.

 

 

RS 3000 CR PROJECTS FROM TATA HOUSING IN 2016-17

Tata Housing Development Co. Ltd has announced plans to double its real estate investments and project launches in 2016-17. The Mumbai based real estate firm will launch 7-8 projects, divided into affordable and luxury segments, across cities and also venture into the Noida market with an investment of about Rs.3000 crore. While Tata Value Homes sells apartments at an entry price of Rs.16 lakh and has about 10 ongoing projects across the country, Tata Housing currently has 19 projects in the premium and luxury homes category. The company is examining the prospects of buying land or entering into joint ventures with partners for their new projects.

 

 

PCMC TO BUILD 11, 000 INDIVIDUAL TOILETS

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has announced plans to construct 11,000 individual toilets in its jurisdiction with a view to make the twin city 'open defecation free' by March next year. The toilets are expected to be built in slums, along important roads, and BRTS corridors as part of the Swachh Bharat and Swachh Maharashtra initiatives. Under the plan, a household receives Rs.16,000 as grant for construction of an individual toilet. The central and state governments, besides the municipal corporation and the house owner, share the remaining cost.

 

 

HAVELLS TO SET UP NEW MANUFACTURING UNIT

Consumer electrical products maker Havells India Ltd which has 11 plants across seven locations plans to set up a new manufacturing unit at a cost of Rs.1,059 crore. The project is to come up on a 50 acre plot of land on the outskirts of Bengaluru, the firm’s first outside north India. It is reported the company has secured approval for the proposed plant from the Karnataka government’s single-window clearance agency. The project has the potential to create 2,576 jobs.

 

 

MODULAR BUILDING FACTORY FOR PUNE

Modulex India has announced plans to invest Rs.100 crore to set up a modular building construction factory in Pune. The modular building construction firm, incubated by Red Ribbon Advisory Services, expects to generate approximately 1,000 jobs in India by 2017. The factory to be built on a 40 acre land is expected to commence production by March 2017. The company offers British offsite construction technology which allows for rapid construction at almost one-fifth of time taken by conventional buildings using same construction materials and at same cost per square feet as traditional construction.

 

 

RICHA PEB FOR IRCON

Leading construction and engineering firm Richa Industries will be constructing five pre engineered buildings at Rourkela Orissa for IRCON International, a government company incorporated by the Ministry of Railways. The scope of work in the turnkey project includes design and construction of structures including lifting bay, inspection bay, machine shop, wheel lathe and oil godown with the total area of 16,000 sq mt. It is reported the project will be completed in nine months.

 

 

AFFORDABLE PROJECT FROM PURAVANKARA

Bengaluru based real estate major Puravankara Projects has announced plans to invest up to Rs.500 crore on the construction of its first affordable housing project in Hyderabad. As part of the project to be taken up by the group’s subsidiary Puravankara Housing Limited over the next 5 years 2400 housing units will be developed in partnership with the land owner. The company has launched the first phase of the project called Kenworth by Provident' comprising 400 units. It is reported the company authorities said 10 million sq ft of housing and commercial projects will be launched in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune as part of the company’s 2020 growth strategy.

The youngest business vertical of the Adani Group has forayed into the commercial properties development space by announcing the launch of its project – Inspire by Adani – at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. The project by Adani Realty is spread across eight lakh sq.ft of built up area with G+10 floors with large and flexible floor plates along with landscaped terraces and breakout spaces. It has been designed to accommodate the diverse needs of Mumbai's most dynamic businesses, from smaller offices of 2500 sq.ft. to larger floor plates of 50,000 sq ft.

 

 

ODISHA HOUSING FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKERS

The Government of Odisha under Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced two major projects worth Rs.660 crore for the overall development of steel city Rourkela. While work on a Rs.400 crore underground sewerage system is to soon begin – the first tender for the project has been completed – a housing project costing Rs.260 crore for the poor and slum dwellers has been announced besides construction of 50,000 houses for workers engaged in construction activities.

 

 

BIHAR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS SUFFER SAND HIT

Major construction projects in eastern India face the prospect of being stalled due to the absence of fresh supply of sand. This follows an order by the eastern zone bench of National Green Tribunal which prohibits mining till environmental clearance is accorded by district authorities. Sand stocks have seen a dramatic depletion in the market, leading to a crisis in the construction sector. This has affected projects especially those related to road, flyover and building construction in Bihar not to mention private developers who claim to have suffered huge losses.

GREEN BUILDING ON GROWTH PATH

India’s green building industry is expected to grow by 20 per cent in the next three years, mainly on account of environmental regulation and rising demand. As per a report by Dodge Data & Analytics high-rise residentials, new communities and mixed-use development are expected to be the top three sectors for the growth of green buildings in India. It is reported countries with green activity above the global average of 24 per cent include South Africa, Singapore, India, Germany and Mexico.
