Special Report- Bauma Conexpo India

New Avatar

The hugely popular construction equipment fair jointly hosted by Messe München-AEM in India now has a new name for it along with a new venue.

After running three very successful editions of its construction machinery show in India under the bC India brand name, joint partners Messe München, one of the world’s leading trade-show companies, and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the Milwaukee, Wisconsin headquartered international trade group representing the off-road equipment manufacturing industry, have now come up with a new name for the event – BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA.
It may be recalled that the first BAUMA CONEXPO SHOW—bC India in 2011 marked the start of a co-operation between Messe München and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) in the organisation of international events for the construction machinery sector. The BAUMA CONEXPO SHOW—bC India, which took place from December 15 to 18, 2014 in the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida/Delhi, held a steady course as regards key figures. The show consolidated its position on the market. A total of 26,000 visitors and 635 exhibitors from 25 countries attended the third edition of this International Trade Fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles.
The organisers have also decided upon the new dates and a new venue for the forthcoming event. The fourth edition of the International Trade Fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles will now be held from December 12 to 15, 2016 at the HUDA Ground in Gurgaon outside Delhi.
Igor Palka, CEO, bC Expo India, explains the merits of the decision. “The north of India is still a highly interesting region. We have found an event venue in a very good location – the airport and many hotels are quick and easy to reach. Also directly at the ground is a metro station.”
Despite concerns of infrastructure yet to be created at the site, Palka is convinced that, “We can organise a highly successful fair under these conditions. In the past we have already proven that we can do it.”
His confidence is not without justification having stewarded previous editions of the fair with a remarkable degree of success that would do acclaimed international organisers proud.
The switch to the new venue has also met with approval from the industry.
Sunil Sapru, Chief Executive Marketing, Ammann Apollo India, is led to say “The exhibition being held in Gurgaon-Delhi will ensure that all important and influential key members will be coming. We are convinced that BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA will again provide exhibiting companies with the best possibility to showcase the latest technologies. For customers it is the place to get a first-hand feeling of the latest trends.”
BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA would be an excellent opportunity to observe the emerging Indian market, meet high-quality visitors and exhibitors and generate new business. Much of the confidence also stems from the urgency on the part of the government to get projects actioned with several favourable doing business policy decisions now in place. It is evident that infrastructure and construction sector players are looking at the equipment market in India to move forward again. As per the assessment by Off-Highway Research sales of construction machinery are expected to rise by 2016 and to regain the highest level reached so far, in 2011. In that year 72,000 units were sold. By 2018, the analysts predict that sales will rise continuously to in the region of 97,000 units. The products most in demand on the sub-continent remain the same as today: backhoe loaders, crawler-excavators, mobile cranes, mobile compressors, compaction equipment and wheel loaders.
