Vector takes pride in its execution capabilities and has delivered over 1000 projects till date, which amounts to over 7 million sq ft of area and over 1,00,000 workstations and chairs. Briefly tell us about the role Vector Projects (I) Pvt. Ltd has played since its founding as an integrated turnkey interior solutions provider?
Vector started off as a modular furniture supplier and gradually grew to including civil and interior, HVAC, MEP, Networking, etc. in its service offerings. In 2005, we set up – Artmatrix, which is a leading Modular Furniture Company based in Malaysia and exports worldwide. Recently, we set up our factory in Pen, which specialises in wood-works. We are now equipped to have all the work done in house and are a one-stop solution provider for any of your interior needs. We source from a variety of brands from across the world, depending upon the need of the client. Vector boasts of a team of architects and designers who have a track record of delivering large scale and complex turnkey solutions. A thorough understanding of Design, Execution and Services makes Vector a market leader in turnkey solutions. Our Design Team specialises in complete Design and Build solutions for corporate offices. A systematic approach towards your needs including site surveys and recommendations makes sure that you get the office you need. An in house electrical, HVAC and BMS team leads to a single point interaction between the client and Vector. Our management team is vastly experienced in planning and tracking interior fit-outs. Our purchase team liaises with quality vendors to provide you with best in class materials.


What are the products and solutions offered by your company to the interiors space?  Tell us of your main clients in the construction and infrastructure space, the projects and the scale of the work you have done so far?
Our modular furniture company makes everything from workstations to chairs, to partition systems to mobile pedestals and other lose furniture. We also have our factory in Pen that specialises in woodworks so we are also able to customise furniture for our clients depending upon their need. We have worked with all major architects and are able to handle projects of very large scales. Some of our clients are Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Edelweiss, Saraswat Bank, GMR, GE, Tata Capital, Citibank, ACC Ltd, Hiranandani, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, Microsoft, Emerson  and many others.

What are the areas of your specialisation when it comes to interiors? What are the current trends in the office space market?
We see ourselves as a one-stop solution for all your interior needs. We design, execute and have our own manufacturing facility. We are known for our project management capabilities and ability to meet the most stringent deadline. Current trends would include more open offices, flexi seating. One is witnessing more openness in terms of design. People are now open to more contemporary and modern designs.

Tell us about the office furniture designed by your firm, their special features, USP and advantage offered over competitor products?
Incorporated in June 2005, Artmatrix Technology SdnBhd is a one stop solution provider for the design, manufacture and supply of office furniture primarily to corporate offices and institutions. While Artmatrix Technology SdnBhd focuses on R&D and branding, marketing, distribution and project management of system furniture, Artmatrix Manufacturing SdnBhd (its 100 per cent owned subsidiary) focuses on complete manufacturing support. With the combined complementary experience and expertise of the top management and its dedicated staffs, the company successfully penetrated the local, regional and global markets within a short period. Artmatrix's first overseas branch was set up on April 2007 in Dubai, known as Artmatrix UAE LLC. Today, global operation showrooms are established in metropolis of India, Dubai as well as Singapore, and Artmatrix’s products have reached 5 continents.
Together with Vector Projects (India) Pvt Ltd, Artmatrix is growing exponentially for years. In the year 2011, annual sales turnover achieved its new high at RM 51million by supplying more than 50,000 of panels and 20,000 of chairs worldwide. During the same year, Artmatrix expanded by acquiring an 85,000 sq. ft. premises at Selesa Jaya, Balakong, Selangor. The new premises of Artmatrix were transformed from a 16 years old building to a 'Green Factory'. It is fully refurbished in accordance to comply with Green Building Index – industrial tool. The building is now targeting for GBI certification. Every project comes with its unique challenges and honestly, that keeps the work interesting.


Give us an understanding of your in house brand of modular products like Artmatrix?
The Artmatrix line of modular products is distinguished by the fact that all products are designed in-house, incorporating the client's requirements and are, therefore, customised. As an ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certified company, Artmatrix is committed to 'Continuous Improvements' on all fronts. Products are tested and have earned accreditation from ANSI/BIFMA, meeting American and British standards.


Tell us of the performance of your company in recent year against the background of the downswing in the economy?   
We started churning out a profit from our very first year and our performance has been consistent with a steady growth


What are your strategies to push your products against the background of intense market competition?
We see ourselves as a service provider. Products are a part of the entire package that we offer. We want to be a one-stop solution for a client’s interior needs and our consistently working towards it. Our next step would be to take our services online.

Tell us about your company’s approach towards sustainability and the green movement in respect of the products you offer to residential and commercial spaces?
Artmatrix is the first Malaysian office furniture manufacturer to have a range of workstation carrying Environmental Choice Australia (ECA) eco label, assessed and verified by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA). The manufacturing processes and products are assessed in accordance to ISO14024 and licenced with GES (Global Environmental Standard). In addition, Eco-label products are laboratory tested against ANSI/BIFMA M7.1-2007 for its low emission, and comply with LEED requirement for the Indoor Air Quality.
