Great Expo-rience

 

The Big 5 Construct India 2015, a three day building and construction trade fair held at Mumbai, sets another benchmark of success with increased participation from national and international players.

 

Raising its professional standards and adding another success to its quality trade fairs, the third edition of Big 5 Construct India showcased new technical developments and product additions which could add value to the construction industry. Organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) along with the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India in association with dmg events, the exhibition took place from 10-12 September 2015 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The event was supported by Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Council of Architecture (COA), The Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI), Builders Association of India (BAI), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The exhibition which brought industry experts under one roof also received an increased visitor turnout in its third edition. The show saw an impressive attendance of  7,428 trade professionals from varied segments which included architects, builders, real-estate developers, contractors, engineers, dealers and distributors of building and construction materials among others. The 2015 edition showcased over 250 global technologies, trends and solutions as well as nearly 15 CPD certified technical workshops, sessions and seminars.

 

 

INDUSTRY FEEDBACK

 

The expo gave the visitors and exhibitors a chance to meet decision makers, key buyers and the who’s who of the building and construction sectors from India, South East Asia, Middle East and Europe. The quality participation and healthy inflow of visitor turnouts also brought cheer among international participants. The exhibition also saw active participation of international exhibitors from Germany, Turkey, UK, Kuwait, China, Korea, Malaysia, Italy, Oman and Qatar, who expressed their satisfaction on the overwhelming response to their pioneering products in the Indian market.

 

Expressing his gratitude over the event participation, Fatih Say, Sales Manager-Mechanical Engineer, Namtas, Turkey said, “It was our first ever exhibition in India and we are really very happy to see the tremendous response for our product. We look forward to participate next year as well.”

 

Sharing similar views was Mirza Aijaz Baig, Chief Executive Officer, Ahlia Chemicals Company from Kuwait. “We are very glad to participate for the second time at The Big 5 Construct India 2015 exhibition. And yet again we got an opportunity to enter the market with a huge demand. The Indian market is developing and has huge scope for our products.”

 

The event apart from offering an interactive platform also enabled international participants to establish a positive business dialogue with their potential customers. Says Xu, Representative, China Pavilion, “With the variety of the products and services we had displayed we saw a good demand for flooring, ceiling and blocks machine. The overall response from the visitors was quite impressive. We look forward to participate next year too.”

 

Indian exhibitors too had a strong presence at the show which included majors like Asahi India Glass Ltd., Birla White Cement, Godrej Construction, Astral Polytechnik Ltd., Tata Steels, Jindal Steels & Power Ltd., Bishan Steel Industries, Ashtech India Ltd. and many more. Like the international participants, the event through its quality focused approach also succeeded in creating positive sentiment among Indian exhibitors.

 

“All the important job titles, right mix of stakeholders brought in more interest for our product, that’s exactly what we aspired” opined Sharad Vyas, Head Technical Services, Birla White Cement.

 

Talking on the similar lines was Somasundaram Senthil Kumar, Key Accounts, Asahi India Glass Ltd. He said, “Bringing the right set of people to our booth, has given us a very personal feeling, thanks to the team for a great effort. We have made more contacts.”

 

The event which particularly focused on showcasing the latest industrial and technical developments also proved beneficial for players like TATA Steel which used the platform for their product launch. “People have shown interest in our new product line, it was a great platform for TATA steel to showcase our new technology” said Parag Raut, Manager Sales & Marketing, TATA Steel.
