MYSORE TO HAVE WORLD’S LARGEST PAINT PLANT

India’s largest paint manufacturer Asian Paints has outlined plans to build a water-based paint's plant near Mysore. The Rs.2300 crore plant at Thandya will have a capacity of six lakh kilolitres per annum and an estimated turnover of Rs.10,250 crore, it is reported. The facility is projected to offer direct employment to about 900 people while it will benefit 4,500 indirectly.

 

 

NAGPUR METRO PLANS MULTI-STOREY COMPLEX

The Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation has announced plans to construct a multi-storey station complex at the two main junctions of North-South and East-West corridors. The 25 storey complex will have food plaza, shopping outlets, commercial establishments, banks and other private ventures. The project has already grabbed the interest of four international funding agencies from France, Germany, European Union and Japan, who are ready to fund about Rs.4,500 crore. While the Central and State government will contribute 20 per cent of the remaining funds required and five per cent each from local bodies like the Nagpur Municipall Corporation and Nagpur Improvement Trust.

 

 

ASHIANA-SHRIRAM TO JOINTLY DEVELOP RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

Realty firms Ashiana Housing and Shriram Properties will be jointly developing a housing project in Kolkata. The entire project is to be developed on a total saleable area of about 18 lakh sq ft. Ashiana Housing has raised Rs.200 crore from global investors Goldman Sachs and Creador through qualified institutional placement (QIP). The company is also executing residential houses for senior citizens. Apart from the Kolkata based residential project, the Delhi based firm is also developing projects at Jaipur, Bhiwadi, Sohna-Gurgaon, Neemrana, Chennai, Kolkata and Jamshedpur.

 

 

SARE UNVEILS OLYMPIA IN GURGAON

SARE Homes has launched, Olympia, a 17-acre sports-oriented project in Gurgaon. The project offers approximately 330 units of 3 BHK and 3BHK+ units through the project. The project conforms to Seismic Zone 5 specifications - one level above Zone 4 specified for Gurgaon - and to IGBC Green Building norms, with solar water heating and solid waste management. The project includes various sports and fitness facilities within the complex and caters to the mid-income customers. Located in the New Gurgaon residential hub with wide arterial roads, Olympia has easy access to NH-8, Southern Periphery Road and the Dwarka Expressway.

 

ASHADEEP’S NEEMRANA TOWNSHIP

Realty major Ashadeep Group Estates has completed its biggest township project 'Green The Villas' in Neemrana. The entire township consists of 384 villas constructed in an area of 200/133 square yards with built up area of 1900/1500 square feet for each villa. Located at Jaipur Delhi NH-8 and adjacent to the RIICO Japanese Zone, this is the most luxurious township of villas that has ever been built in Neemrana. RELIANCE TO INVEST Rs.5,000 CR IN PIPAVAV

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group has earmarked plans to invest up to Rs.5,000 crore to bolster its assets in Pipavav Defence. The company has assets to the tune of Rs.10,000 crore and the additional investment is part of its commitment towards indigenisation. Pipavav has more than 30 lakh sq ft of covered area for fabrication and integration alone which makes it the largest single location defence manufacturing facility in India. Reliance has plans to make it a Global Centre of Excellence in shipbuilding and ensure it caters to all requirements of the Indian Navy from frigates to aircraft carriers and submarines.

 

 

DMICDC’S INDUSTRIAL PARK CUM LOGISTICS CENTRE

The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) is planning an industrial park cum logistics centre at Silvassa. DMICDC has already invited RFQ cum RFP for selection of consultants for the preparation of a techno-economic feasibility study report. The scope of work includes site survey and suitability assessment, market survey and demand assessment, infrastructure gap assessment, master plan and design services, financial feasibility, institutional mechanisms and project structuring functions. The project favourable locations identified by DMICDC are Vellugram, Parzai, Kharadpada and Karad. In addition, another land parcel of about 90 hectares of contiguous land at Surangi is also under consideration for the development of mini industrial logistic park.

 

 

KEF TO STRENGTHEN INDIAN FOOTRPINT

Dubai based KEF Holdings has outlined investment plans as part of its efforts to contribute to India’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. The company plans to invest about Rs.2,000 crore to set up three manufacturing units in India. The units will be set up one each in northern India, Gujarat and Maharashtra. In addition, the company will also invest about Rs.500-600 crore to set up an industrial park in Tamil Nadu. The industrial project is to be spread on 42 acres and will be set up at Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. On completion, it will be the country’s only off-site manufacturing facility. In addition, the company will also invest about Rs.550 crore to develop a 500-bed hospital project. The project will be constructed using precast and modular construction technology and will be fully completed by the first quarter of 2016.

 

 

GODREJ PROPERTIES’ NEW PROJECT IN BENGALURU

Godrej Properties will soon develop its new residential project in Bengaluru. SPV Godrej Home Constructions Pvt Ltd will be developing a mid-income residential housing project on about 18 acres . This is the third project signed by the company in Bengaluru during the current fiscal and the fourth project through the APG anchored investment platform on a pan India basis. The company is currently developing residential, commercial and township projects spread across 10.25 million sq m in 12 cities.

 

 

PENCH IV TO BE COMPLETE BY 2018

The Pench IV water supply project by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation is expected to be fully complete by 2018. While work on the crucial areas have been fully completed, construction of four elevated storage reservoirs (ESRs) or overhead tanks is yet to commence. In addition one of the two pumps at Godhni water treatment plant (WTP) is yet to be functional. In total 20 ESRs are built under the Pench IV project, of which 17 are already operational and the remaining three will be fully functional by 2018. Presently, the Godhni WTP is catering to the water requirements of Nara, Jaripatka, Dhantoli, Omkar Nagar and Mhalgi Nagar ESRs.

 

 

INDIA’S FIRST DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL PARK IN KERALA

The Union government’s Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has approved a proposal from the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) to set up the country’s first defense industrial park at Ottappalam, in Kerala. The project to be developed on the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, will have modern common infrastructure facilities and aims to attract manufacturers of defence components. The Union government plans to develop the project under the Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS).

 

 

AMARAVATI CITY ATTRACTS FIRMS FROM SINGAPORE

Two leading township developers from Singapore are looking to participate in the development of Andhra Pradesh’s new capital city, Amaravati. Realty majors Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp Development have expressed interest in building the city and have submitted a master plan before the government. Singapore’s Subrana Jurong has designed the masterplan of Amaravati city which contains details of the land use and infrastructure plans for a 16.9 sq km start-up area within the total 7,000 sq km capital.

 

 

THEME RESIDENTIAL TOWNSHIP IN CHHATTISGARH

The Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) plans to develop a theme residential township, the first-of-its-kind in the state of Chhattisgarh. The project will offer residents a ‘gateway’ residential location surrounded by naturally scenic areas in the new capital city.The NRDA has now invited builders and real estate developers to take up plots for development of a ‘Mixed Use Group Housing Project’ in the new administrative capital on a lease basis. The plots have been made available in Sector 7 and 15. In addition, the city will have an ‘intelligent rain water drainage system’ fixed with indicators to send alert before water logging or flood situation with option for automatic valve opening system.

 

 

STARWOOD LAUNCHES SHERATON IN HYDERABAD

Global hotel chain Starwood has just launched its 44th hotel in the country at Hyderabad. Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has opened Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel. A renovated property Owned by SAMHI Hotels (Ahmedabad) Private Limited, the 272 room Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel is close to the HITEX Exhibition Centre and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre and is located about a 30-minute drive away from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The hotel is a much anticipated addition to the Sheraton brand’s global portfolio and marks an increased demand for hotels in emerging markets within India's bustling metropolitan cities. It is the third Starwood hotel in the south-central Indian city, and the third Sheraton in India.

 

 

HSIL ON EXPANSION MODE

Sanitaryware major HSIL has outlined plans to expand manufacturing capacity at its plant in Rajasthan besides bracing to set up another production unit in Gujarat. The company has acquired a 65-acre site at Dahej in Gujarat and expects to take up another plant with a manufacturing capacity of 1.2 million units per annum. The plant will be set up with an outlay of Rs.150 crore. It is reported in addition, the company capacity of 3.8 million pieces in Rajasthan is being increased to 4.5 million units by de-bottlenecking. The sanitaryware company recently rolled out water heaters in association with European major Groupe Atlantic hopes to see double-digit growth this year and over the next few years as it enters into new segments.
