Saga of Innovation

The journey of RAK Ceramics, world’s largest ceramics manufacturer and the most trusted brand for vitrified tiles, is endless and driven by novel design concepts.

‘Excellence and Innovation’ are the two defining words to describe the $1 billion worth global conglomerate, RAK Ceramics. RAK Ceramics expanded its presence into the Indian mainland in 2004 and through its innovative and quality approach succeeded in evolving as the most premium vitrified tile brand in India. The company is today `800 crore worth sales organisation and is one of the topmost ceramic and vitrified tile manufacturer and sanitaryware producer in India. The company embarked its supremacy over innovative products through the launch of ‘Luminous’, a tile that glows in the dark and ‘Antimicrobial’, a super specialty tile for the hospital industry. After the launch of such first-of-its-kind innovations, RAK Ceramics has added three new feathers to its success cap by expanding its product line of vitrified tiles.
One of such innovations is the new range of ceramic wall tiles under its hit series of Venezia Eleganza in size 400 X 800 mm, which was highly appreciated in metros and urban spaces. The new range consists of sparkling highlighters along with base tiles which create vivid new styles on the walls. The concept though is widely accepted across the globe is still at its pedestal stage in India and is gradually finding its space among the urban elite masses. The range comes with over 25 designer concepts that not only gives aesthetic beauty but also has utility characteristics like low water absorption, resistance to stains, creasing and abrasion and high durability, ultimately ensuring a long lasting life. The products are priced within the range from `120/sq ft for base tiles and `135/sq ft for highlighters.
The other first-of-its kind innovation is under the Logs & Planks collection – which had been launched with wood inspired exquisite design rustic finish. RAK Ceramics will expand its collection with more wood inspired designs in high gloss polished finish. The Logs & Planks collection involves unique features like almost zero water absorption and breaking strength of minimum 1800 N, coupled with long life. These features make the product more beneficial than the actual wooden flooring solutions which are available in the market. The range comes in 10 unique designs and is offered in two sizes of 598 X 1198 mm and 197 X 1198 mm. Furthermore, the rustic and high gloss polished finish enables the tiles to give a natural wooden effect.
The warmness and market identity gained by RAK Styler Grande, encouraged RAK Ceramics to expand its product line through its another benchmarking innovation -- Verve. Available in size of 298 X 1198 mm, Verve is an extension to RAK Styler Grande which has led the way for use of large sized vitrified wall tile concepts in India. Verve has sourced its concept from the design trends which are on-demand across the globe. Every design in the series is conceptualised to blend the artistic trends with the evolving customer requirements. Verve not only boasts of artistic excellence but also has strong technical features. The vitrified body ensures long lasting durability, water absorption is less than 0.5% and the tiles are dust and stain resistant. The tiles also come in variety of textures and finishes to add a touch of class. The grand size of 298 X 1198 mm helps create a seamless and monolithic appearance that suit big and small spaces and liven up the interiors with awe-inspiring designs.
The company's already existing and noteworthy range of product creations include the high-valued brand ‘Elegance Ceramics’. A unique range of eco-friendly products such as RAK SLIM, Stone Art Collection, Orion Collection and Wood Art Collection are also offered under the RAK umbrealla by using the latest Nanopix digital printing technology. Furthermore, RAK Ceramics has also launched its trendy tiles in unique sizes of 25 cm x 70 cm and 20 cm x 50 cm appealing to the urban consumers.
