Tell us of the international collaborations that have enhanced your business?

Geofluid is an Indian company but we have made alliances with several international majors. We enjoy tie-ups with players from USA, France, Japan and Turkey. To name a few, Filternox from Turkey, which specialises in producing state-of-the-art automatic filters ; Parker Hannifin Corporation, USA which focuses on filtration, climate and industrial controls, aerospace, motion and control, fluid connectors and seals; Ebara Corporation, Japan, is one of the world leaders in design, development and manufacturing of pumps and pumping systems; Tacmina Corporation, also from Japan, offers pumps designed to work in the range of 90 V to 264V. These are equipped with digital control mode enabling clients to set discharge volumes directly by eliminating conversions and ensuring precise injections. Furthermore, ErtelAlsop, USA, designs and manufactures filtration systems and provides peculiar filter media to gain clarity and functionality of the application; Ionpure, USA, was the first company to commercialise continuous electro-deionization technology for the industrial water market. Apart from those we have also established alliances with Heraeus Nobelight, Knappe Composites, and Nakao Filter Media. In addition, we also provide Indian players with equipments and technologies and help them in achieving the purification process. Original equipment manufacturers (OEM), waste water and water treatment, industrial and manufacturing facilities depend upon us to provide technical assistance.

Geofluid has established its presence in the Indian market on the back of its technical uniqueness and automated product features.  What are the new ‘value added’ products and solutions you are looking to introduce to Indian customers?
India’s embrace of globalisation has brought in new advanced technologies and numerous international players into our terrain. However, while the advent of these technologies is progressive, it has also led to a constant concern of rising carbon emissions. Addressing this mounting problem of environmental concerns in the infrastructure, construction and industrial segment is a crucial necessity. Considering this, we at Geofluid plan to soon introduce a ‘Carbon Reactivation Facility’, which will be a first-of-its-kind product ever introduced in the purification business. Every year people purchase and utilise numerous products which contribute majorly to producing activated carbon which is thrown open to the environment. Through our facility we will be reactivating and purifying the carbon emitted due from distinct products and industries. The carbon emitted from any industrial facility or through any resource once collected can be reprocessed, purified and reactivated in our facility. Our expertise in the national and global domain has enabled Geofluid to arrive upon such a unique initiative. The product will be introduced to the Indian customers sometime next year. We anticipate a prospective demand market for this product due to growing environmental concerns and awareness. Besides, stringent application of environmental laws by the regulating and governing authorities will further enhance the need and demand for such products in the coming years.

To what extent is cost a deterrent when it comes to purchase of technically advanced products and equipment?

Though the cost driven approach is prevalent in the market, the situation is gradually improving. A gradual shift is being witnessed towards value based qualitative products. Furthermore, with the advent of latest technologies and increasing presence of globalised products, customers now show a marked preference for the total lifecycle and productivity of the products as against cost competitiveness. Moreover, with the enforcement of environmental norms we consider this as an apt situation for such products and technologies. Another major hurdle being witnessed while introducing such products to the Indian market is the existence of local, unorganised, players who offer cheap quality products. However, we are also working closely with various pollution control board and effluent treatment authorities across the country. There is a demand for qualitative products and technologies with the ability to address mounting environmental concerns.
