In an exclusive interview, MUNISH TANEJA, PRESIDENT, EQUIPMENT HIRING BUSINESS, INDIABULLS SORIL INFRA, speaks to CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES about the services provided in the rental sector, competing with the OEMs, financial assistance and a lot more.

 

 

 

You have over 600 equipments under your wing. What are the services that you provide to the clients?

 

We have a mix of brands and a category of equipments- tower cranes, hoists, excavators, motor graders, generators and others. Our idea is to give a complete solution to the customer form the start to the end. We are looking at providing all the equipments are needed for a project.

 

 

 

Do you provide financial assistance along with the equipment that you provide?

 

Our prime business is into the rental sector. However, we have come up with a new product and are also working on to provide the finance and other asset related options. For the customers who have long terms projects are looking at owning the assets. Hence we have provided that solution also and are looking out for having tie ups with some of the OEMs as well. We will give them an option to own the machines as well. This will be like a financing option for the customers in addition to the regular financing solutions that are already present.

 

 

 

With most of the OEMs having their own rental arm, how will you compete with the big names?

 

The OEMs will only focus on their products and will not give a complete solution. This is where we have the edge as we will be providing complete solution along with the finance option. Another advantage for us over the other companies is that we have a pan India operation. We are having our yards and operations in all the major metro cities of India. The customer is also looking out for services as well and that is what we can give more than others.

 

 

 

How was 2018 as a year in terms of performance for your company and the rental sector?

 

The year has been great and exciting for Indiabulls. We have started a lot of new business in 2018- IB LED and the company has procured new assets, about 100 machines this year. It has been a year of lot of growth opportunities in India and we as a company are all geared up to take advantage of this positive scenario.

 

 

 

2019 is an election year. How do you look at the elections impacting the market?

 

That is a major event which is watched by all of us very closely. There are a lot of investments that will be done according to the results. For us also it will be a crucial one. However the path that has been set for infrastructure development has been set and anyone who comes to power will have to follow it. The rate of the growth will be something that cannot be talked about now. However as I said earlier, India has a great potential to grow.

 

 

 

Tell us about the aftermarket sales services by your company?

 

We have a team of some of the best trained operational engineers today who have the OEM experience background. That is the core of our operations. We have an in-house team that maintains and manages these machines. There are workshop facilities and we have a good team and facility for that. We will also invest to upgrade them for better practices.

 

 

 

Do you provide a complete rental solution with the operators?

 

Indiabulls Rentals provides a complete rental solution with operators and maintenance.

 

 

 

How was bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2018?

 

The response that we have got is quite good. Earlier we were targeting only the corporate companies. However now even tier 2 3 type customers are also approaching us for the services that we offer and that is a good addition to this. We were earlier into real estate. This year we are into roads, ports an piling. The next year, we want to enter in paving, material handling and cement mining. Warehousing is also something that is promising and we have thought of discussing on those lines.
