Tata Motors delivers 25 hybrid electric buses to MMRDA


Tata Motors delivered over 25 hybrid electric buses to the city's planning authority MMRDA. Developed indigenously, these Tata-Starbus hybrid electric buses come with full low-floor configuration, offer global design standards, can run on dual power (diesel and electric) and use lithium ion batteries.

The buses comply with all UBS-II (urban bus specifications), AIS 052 (automotive industry standards) and CMVR (central motor vehicle rules).



JLG introduces India distributor

JLG has appointed Sudhir Power as its distributor for North and West India.

Sudhir Power is a leading power equipment manufacturer, including generators, transformers and switchboards.

The company has annual revenues of around $300 million and has five manufacturing facilities across India.




Talbros Automotive Components Bags New Order

Leading gaskets manufacturer Talbros Automotive Components Ltd has received an order under the forgings division, for supply of parts to Dana Spicer India Pvt Ltd, a Tier 1 supplier to prominent commercial vehicle players in the country.

These components are heavier in nature and will require an installation of a higher tonnage press.

The order spans for the life of the model and estimated revenues from the same is about Rs.35 crore per annum.




Mahindra Truck & Bus launches service package

Mahindra Truck & Bus Division (MTBD), a part of the $19 billion Mahindra Group has introduced a set of industry first service offerings for the truck owners. The package for Mahindra BLAZO customers includes increased oil change intervals (leading to saving of 9 per cent per annum for transporters), reduced lubricant oil prices (ensuring overall 18 per cent savings per annum), 6 years/ 6 Lakhs kilometres warranty on Mahindra BLAZO. The service package is intended to provide truck owners with peace of mind when it comes to actual cost of ownership, which includes the cost of running the transport business.



Mahindra February sales up 19 per cent to 51,127 units

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has posted a 19 per cent growth in its February sales at 51,127 units. The company had sold 42,826 vehicles during the same month last year. The passenger vehicles volumes (which includes UVs, cars and vans) grew 8 per cent at 22,389 units in February 2018 as against 20,717 units in February last year. Commercial vehicle sales during the month jumped 28 per cent to 20,946 units compared to 16,383 units in the same month of 2017.


Domestic sales in February stood at 48,473 vehicle as against 40,526 units in the year-ago period, registering a growth of 20 per cent.. Exports during the month grew 15 per cent to 2,654 units as against 2,300 in February 2017.In the medium and heavy commercial vehicles segment, M&M sold 828 vehicles for the month, registering a growth of 16 per cent, the company said.



Tata Motors readies Rs.3,000 crore commercial vehicle ride

Tata Motors will invest more than Rs.3,000 crore in its commercial vehicle business unit over the next two years to develop new products, upgrade existing models to conform with upcoming emission standards and debottleneck production processes to meet increasing demand. The bulk of this investment will go into development of new products, introduction of those new products and debottlenecking required in specific areas due to this increase in demand,The company, India’s largest maker of commercial vehicles, has an installed capacity to make around 0.7 million CVs at its five facilities in Jamshedpur, Pune, Pantnagar and Dharwad.



VE Commercial Vehicles sells 6882 units in February2018

VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors joint venture) sold 6882 units in February 2018 as compared to 5603 units February 2017, recording a growth of 22.8 per cent.This includes 6789 units of Eicher brand and 93 units of Volvo brand.

Following are the key highlights for February2018:

  • Eicher branded trucks & buses have recorded a total sale of 6789 units in February 2018 (YTD 55621 units) as compared to 5483 units in February 2017 (LYTD 50478 units), recording a growth of 23.8 per cent.
  • In the domestic CV market, Eicher branded trucks & buses have recorded sales of 5776units (YTD 47885 units) in February 2018 as compared to 4932 units in February 2017 (LYTD 43123 units) representing a growth of 17.1 per cent.
  • On the Exports front, Eicher branded trucks & buses have recorded a total sale of 1013 units inFebruary2018 (YTD 7736 units) as compared to 551 units in February 2017 (LYTD 7355 units) representing a growth of 83.8 per cent.
  • Volvo Trucks has recorded sales of 93 units in February 2018 (YTD 889 units) as compared to 120 units in February 2017 (LYTD 924 units).
