L&T Construction awarded (Significant*) contracts for its Water & Effluent Treatment Business

The Water & Effluent Treatment Business of L&T Construction has secured a repeat EPC order from the Department of Water Resources, Government of Jharkhand, to execute the Masalia Ranishwar Megalift irrigation scheme on a turnkey basis. The project envisages to provide water to irrigate 22,283 Ha.of Culturable Command Area (CCA) in the Dumka district of Jharkhand by way of pumping water from the Sidheshwari River. The scope includes survey, design, and constructing a 158 m long barrage across the Sidheshwari river. The scope also includes survey, design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning intake and intermediate pump houses, delivery chambers, MS, DI & HDPE pipeline of various diameters and pipeline distribution networks with all allied works. The Business is already executing a similar lift irrigation project in the Garhwa district of Jharkhand. With this order from the irrigation sector, the Business has reinforced its credentials of possessing the technical and executional capability to deliver the elementary requirement of water to the farmers and drive the growth of agriculture across the state.

Tata Power Solar secures solar EPC order of 1GW worth Rs.5,500 crore from SJVN

Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, one of India’s largest integrated solar companies and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, bagged India’s largest single solar EPC order of 1GW for approx. Rs.5,500 crore from SJVN Limited. This EPC order has been designed keeping in mind the innovative use of ‘Make in India’ cells and modules. The project will be developed under the CPSU scheme of MNRE and will be completed within a period of 24months. Covering around 5000+ acres of land in Rajasthan, this project aims at reducing around 22,87,128 kg of carbon emission and is expected to generate around 2500 million units annually.

MEP Infrastructure Developers arm receives LoA from NHAI

Bhalaji Toll Road Private Limited (BTRPL) a subsidiary of MEP Infrastructure Developers Ltd has received Letter of Award (LOA) from National Highways Authority of India informing that BTRPL has been awarded the following 2 Projects.

Guabari Fee Plaza: User fee collection agency through e-tender at Guabari Fee Plaza at Km 243.00 from Km.228.00 to Km 254.500 on Salsalabari to West Bengal Assam Border section of NH-31C in the State of West Bengal. The contract value is Rs.7,90,07,400/-.

Nalavadi Fee Plaza: User fee collection agency through E-quotation basis (e-tender) for Nalavadi (km 161.200) fee plaza for the section from Hubbali Hospet section of NH-63 from Design Chainage Km 128.850 to km 272.571 (Existing Km 129.549 to Km 267.000) in the State of Karnataka. The contract value is Rs.11,13,75,000/-.

Further as per regulatory filing, the period of contract is three months and the operations will commence from 6 working days from the date of LoA for both the projects.

Railtel Corporation of India has bagged a major order from Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd.  for “Implementation of ERP and other Business modules along with servers for cloud hosting and DR services” at a total cost of Rs.20.81 crore.

Welspun Corp bags additional order worth Rs.1,600 crore from Soma Indus

Welspun Corp Limited secured a Letter of Award from Soma Indus for an additional contract of 1,600 crore (inclusive of GST).

Under this contract, the Company will be responsible for undertaking the procurement and construction.

The project construction will start in May 2022 and is scheduled to be completed by November 2023. Further, the earlier procurement and construction contract for the Project of Rs.2,336 crore (which became effective in September 2021) has been de-scoped by Rs.340 crore (inclusive of GST).

BEML bags order worth Rs.118 crore from Coal India

BEML Limited, one of the largest manufacturers of heavy equipment, has signed a prestigious contract with Coal India Limited (CIL) the supply of 01 number 20 CuM Rope Shovel.

The order is valued at Rs.118 crore and is being indigenously developed for the first time under Atmanirbhar Bharat by BEML.

Patel Engineering bags new order of Rs.419.70 crore from MCGM

Patel Engineering, a civil construction firm specialising in the hydropower sector, has bagged a Rs.419.70 crore contract with Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) for the work of “Construction of Tunnel from Powai to Ghatkopar High Level Reservoir and further up to Ghatkopar Low Level Reservoir.”

Patel Engineering Limited is awarded with a contract for Construction of Tunnel from Powai to Ghatkopar High Level Reservoir and further upto Ghatkopar Low Level Reservoir (Remaining Works). The tender was invited by the Municipal Commissioner, for and on behalf of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), on Design-Build basis for construction of approx. 65 m deep shaft at Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) & further construction of approximately 2.8 km long reinforced concrete lined tunnel of 2.2 metres finished diameter from proposed shaft at SCI to Ghatkopar H.L.R (existing shaft) and further upto Ghatkopar L.L.R (existing shaft) , using full face rock tunnel boring machine and approx. 400 m long reinforced concrete lined tunnel of 2.2 metres finished diameter from shaft at SCI to existing location of tunnel boring machine (deployed by previous contractor) towards Powai shaft using NATM method and allied works, under National competitive bidding. Further, the Letter of Acceptance for the contract is issued by MCGM and the works are scheduled to be completed in a period of 51months as per the Contract terms, pointed out the company in its regulatory filing.

SJVN bags contract for 30 MW wind-solar hybrid project worth Rs.195 crore

Government-owned SJVN has won a contract worth Rs.195 crore for setting up of its maiden wind-solar hybrid project with 30 MW generation capacity. The project was bagged through a tariff-based competitive bidding process for providing electricity at the rate of Rs.2.54 per unit on build, own and operate basis, the tentative cost for construction and development of project is Rs.195 crore. The project is expected to generate 79 Million Units in the first year, and on cumulative basis, approximately 1,860 MUs would be generated over a period of 25 years.
The project shall be commissioned within 18 months from the date of signing of the PPA. The project, once becomes operational, is expected to reduce 90,993 tonnes of carbon emissions and will contribute to the government’s target to achieve net zero carbon emission by 2070. The new project will help the company in achieving its ambitious vision of 5,000 MW by 2023, 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040, and simultaneously contribute towards renewable energy capacity addition target of 500 GW by 2030 set by the government.

L&T Construction awarded (Large*) contract in the Bullet Train Project

The Railways Business of L&T Construction has secured a contract from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) to construct 116 Route Km of High-Speed Ballastless Trackworks (Package No: T3) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project, popularly referred to as the Bullet Train Project.

The scope of the MAHSR T3 Package includes Design, Supply, Construction and Testing & Commissioning track works on a Design-Build lump sum price basis for the double line high speed railway between Vadodara and Sabarmati in Gujarat. Japanese Shinkansen track technology will be adopted in this project. Upon completion, this slab track system will enable trains to travel at speeds of up to 320 KMPH.

PSP Projects secures work orders worth Rs.938.76 crore

PSP Projects Ltd is in receipt of new work orders worth Rs.938.76 crore (excluding GST), which includes fresh work orders of Rs.511.39 crore (including order worth Rs.503.56 crore for Project “Construction of Sports Complex at Ahmedabad) & Rs.327.39 crore in FY 2021-22 and FY 2022-23 respectively and additional scope in existing contracts worth Rs.99.98 crore in FY 2021-22.

Hitachi Energy bags Rs.160 crore from MP Power Transmission

Hitachi Energy India Ltd. has won an order worth about Rs.160 crore from MP Power Transmission Package-II Limited. The order was booked in the January to March quarter. It is a project-specific business to strengthen the transmission system in the rural area of Madhya Pradesh to increase capacity and improve the reliability of the power infrastructure in the region. The order for nine grid connections will strengthen a power transmission network spreading over 1,000 kilometres of overhead lines across nine rural districts of Madhya Pradesh. The state has increased its pace to reach a target of 12 GW of renewable energy generation capacity by 2025 - through utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid installations as well as rooftop solar.
