L&T Construction Awarded (Significant*) Contracts for its Various Businesses

The construction arm of L&T has secured orders from prestigious clients for its various businesses.

Water & Effluent Treatment Business:

The Water & Effluent Treatment business of L&T Construction has bagged an order from Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to Design, Build & Operate Sewage Treatment Plants & Intermediate Sewage Pumping Stations along with construction of main sewers for 110 villages in the Mahadevpura & Bommanahalli region (K&C Valley Catchment) of Bengaluru city. The project is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The brief scope of the project includes survey, investigation, design & construction of 2 Pumping stations, 3 fully automated Sewage Treatment Plants of 34 MLD total capacity and main sewer lines of 132 km length with DWC, RCC and DI pipes. The project will benefit 18.04 lakh people in Bengaluru city.

 

Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business:

The Heavy Civil Infrastructure business has secured an order to construct various facilities within 42 Months for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) at Tarapur Maharashtra.

 

Building & Factories Business:

The Buildings & Factories business has secured an order from a prestigious client for the construction of Sports Infrastructure facilities in the Kalinga Stadium at Bhubaneswar, Odisha and a New International Hockey Stadium with 20,000 seating capacity at Rourkela, Odisha in time for the Hockey World Cup, 2023 with total built-up area of 8.45 Lakhs Sq.ft.  This project consists of many iconic buildings such as an Athletic High-Performance Centre (HPC), Aquatic Complex, Tennis Centre, Accommodation building for Hockey HPC & Staff and Staff Hostel at the Kalinga Sports Complex, Bhubaneswar and the Hockey Stadium with ancillary buildings and external development at Rourkela, Odisha. The scope of work involves Civil, Structural, MEP and Field of Play (FOP). 

The fast-track projects are scheduled to be completed in 15 months at Kalinga Sports Complex, Bhubaneswar and 12 months at Rourkela respectively.

Tata Power Solar bags EPC orders  

Tata Power Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Company, an integrated power company, has received ‘Letter of Award’ (LoA) to build 210 MWp of Solar PV projects for NTPC. The total order value of the projects is approximately Rs.6,860 million. The commissioning date for NTPC is set for November,2022.

With this addition, the order pipeline of Tata Power Solar stands at approximately 2.8 GW with an approximate value of Rs.130 billion, thereby cementing its position as India’s leading Solar EPC player.

The scope of work includes land, transmission, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of the solar projects. The NTPC project site is located in Gujarat.

KEC International Clinches New Orders

KEC International Ltd, has won new orders, aggregating Rs.937 crore, across its various businesses.

The power T&D business secured orders worth Rs.418 crore for projects in India, Middle East and the Americas.

The railways business, a relatively new area for KEC, bagged mandates valued at Rs.294 crore. The orders included overhead electrification and associated works. There was also an order for 2x25kV overhead electrification and associated works for a semi high-speed rail project.

The civil business has secured an order of Rs.135 crore for infra works in the metals and mining segment in India, while the cables business won domestic and overseas orders, valued at Rs.90 crore.

Ion Exchange (India) Limited receives EPC projects

Ion Exchange (India) Limited has received Letter of Award and Contract from State Water Supply and Sanitation Mission, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department under Jal Jeevan Mission for two EPC projects, for survey, design, preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR), supply, construction and commissioning of water treatment plant and O&M for 10 years for rural drinking water supply to 1000 villages in two districts of Uttar Pradesh i.e. Varanasi and Aligarh. The value of these two projects is expected to be approximately Rs.1000 crores, specific value will be determined after approval of DPR. The project is to be constructed and commissioned within 21 months from the date of signing of the contract.

WPIL Limited receives order

WPIL Limited has received an Acceptance Order (LOI) from the Government of West Bengal (Central Circle P.H.E. Directorate) for execution of a Project, comprising of designing, surveying, engineering, supplying and constructions, erection, installation, testing and commissioning of fixed type Intake Jetty with Pump House, Sub-Stations, Booster Stations and Water treatment Plants for and aggregate order value at Rs.409.70 Crores to be completed over a period of 36 months.

Ashoka Buildcon Limited receives LOA for order worth Rs.1018.36 crore

Ashoka Buildcon Limited has received Letter of Acceptance from FAHI DHIRIULHUN CORPORATION, a State-owned company of the Government of the Republic of the Maldives, for the Project viz. ‘Design and Construction of 2000 Social Housing Units in Hulhumale’, Republic of Maldives’ (“Project”) on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.

J Kumar Infraprojects bags Rs.1,307.88 crore order from MMRDA

J Kumar Infraprojects Ltd has bagged an order worth Rs.1,307.88 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. In a regulatory filing the company said the order is for part design and construction of balance works of Mumbai Metro Rail project.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd receives work order 

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received the work order of total amount of Rs.119.72 Crore (Including GST) from M/s. Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), for Implementation of MPLS-VPN services along with Miscellaneous services at 340 locations of BCCL for the period of 60 months (5 years).

Innovators Facade Systems Ltd has received work order of Rs.45 crores for design, supply, fabrication and installation of facade work in Mumbai from M/s. Glider Buildcon Realtors Private Limited.

Oriental Rail Infrastructure Ltd secures new orders

Oriental Rail Infrastructure Limited (‘ORIL’) has secured orders worth Rs.154.65 Million for manufacturing and supplying ‘Seat and Berths’ to ‘Indian Railways’. The orders have been secured from ‘Modern Coach Factory, Raibareli’ worth Rs.98.54 Million and ‘Rail Coach Factory (Hussainpur), Kapurthala’ worth Rs.56.11 Million.

The Subsidiary Company, Oriental Foundry Private Limited has secured order worth Rs.144.07 Million from ‘Northern Railways’ for manufacturing and supplying ‘Bogie’.

ORIL group order in hand crossed Rs.3,400 Million with the above orders.

Maximl bags Rs.7.33 crore two-year deal from Indian Oil Corporation for maintenance of all its nine refineries

IT firm Maximl has bagged a two-year deal worth Rs.7.33 crore from Indian Oil Corporation to digitalise last-mile operations across all its nine refineries for turnaround maintenance.

The platform has previously configured the needs of IOCL across two deployments at Panipat and Haldia refineries.

The connected worker platform for turn arounds by Maximl has pioneered digital turnarounds in India and has digitised over 50 turnarounds in the Indian refining sector.

The platform helps refineries unlock the potential for productivity improvements of the large frontline workforce by more than 5 per cent and reduce risk of safety incidents and delays that can lead to cost-saving in a turnaround by averting delays arising out of rework, improved decision making based on real-time data and quicker sign-offs during startups.

TRIL bags transformer order from GETCO valued at $9 M (Rs.66 crore)

Transformers & Rectifiers India Ltd [TRIL] has bagged an order to supply transformers to Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd. TRIL has been awarded an order to supply transformers valued Rs.66 crore to state power utility Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd (GETCO).

Capacite Infraprojects secures order 

Capacite Infraprojects received repeat order of Rs.3,846.6 million from Marquee private sector clients. The EPC firm secured Rs.149.66 crore order for construction of super high rise residential buildings. The company also bagged a Rs.136.3 crore order for construction of high rise residential buildings. It bagged a Rs.987 million order for enhancement for existing project.

GE Power wins 3 order to upgrade Vedanta, Tata Power, JSW plants

GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL) has won three orders worth Rs.125 crore for service projects from Vedanta Ltd, Tata Power Ltd and JSW Steel Ltd.

STEAG Energy Services (India) Private Ltd has placed an order for the complete replacement of the economizer zone tube bank for 2 units of Chinese-made 600MW boilers for end customer Vedanta’s Jharsuguda power plant in Odisha. Tata Power will implement a combustion modification system for their existing Indian-made boilers along with advanced combustion systems equipment to meet NOx emissions standards for their Jojobera plant in Jharkhand. The upgrade will reduce NOx emissions to well below 450 mg/Nm3, enabling Tata Power to meet emissions standards set by the Central Pollution Control Board.

GEPIL will also upgrade JSW Steel’s existing coal plants at its Bellary plant in Karnataka. The upgrade will increase the output of the mill to ensure a better coal injection rate to the furnace with improved reliability and availability. Following the upgrade, JSW will also benefit from spare parts optimization as similar plants are already operating on the site.

B L Kashyap and Sons Limited bags new projects 

B L Kashyap & Sons Limited, one of the leading construction and civil engineering companies in the country has bagged new projects from domestic unrelated clients aggregating to Rs.483 Crores approximately. The projects are a combination of Concrete, Block Work and Finishing Work that will be carried out over a period of time.

From the three projects secured, two of them are at Bengaluru; Concrete, Block Work and Finishing Work at White Field and Airport Road, Hebbal of Rs.99.00 Crores and Rs.270.17 Crores respectively. Whereas the third project is at Gurgaon that requires Construction of Civil, Structure and Rough Finishing Work amounting to Rs.135 Crores.
