Executive Connect



Subramanian Sarma, CEO and MD, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T was inducted as Executive Director on L&T Board recently. In his new role, Sarma will be designated Whole-Time Director & Sr. Executive Vice President (Energy). Effective August 19, 2020, he will hold Board level responsibility for L&T’s Power business, in addition to his current responsibility in the Hydrocarbon business.

Sarma, is a graduate in Chemical Engineering and completed his Masters from IIT Bombay. A seasoned professional, he has over 37 years of experience, with 28 years being in the Middle East.. He has established L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering as a leading provider of Oil & Gas and Petrochemical services in India, Middle East and Africa.

Sarma is the recipient of the CHEMTECH CEW, Business Leader of the year 2017 for Engineering Services. Immediately before joining L&T, Sarma served as Managing Director of Petrofac - Onshore Engineering & Construction, with complete responsibility for all the company’s onshore projects worldwide. Sarma joined the Board of the Company on August 19, 2015.








Anshul Singhal, Managing Director, Welspun One has over 15 years of leadership experience in the infrastructure and real estate sector with a track record of establishing 5 new businesses from the ground up for 3 large corporates. He has held CEO & Director positions for Blackstone, Warburg Pincus and Brookfield investee companies. Prior to founding Welspun One Logistics Parks, Anshul was the CEO of Embassy Industrial Parks (EIP), a JV between the Embassy Group and Warburg Pincus with a potential AUM of ~USD 1BN. Under his watch, EIP delivered 6MM sf of Grade A warehousing facilities, and acquired a land portfolio of 1400 acres in Pune, NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hosur and Hyderabad, with development potential of over 35MM sf. He was responsible for the delivery of a 130MW solar farm in Karnataka for the Embassy Group, which entailed an investment of USD 100MM. Anshul was the founding Director of JSW Severfield Structures Ltd from 2007-2014. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), GRI Club and has the unique distinction of being the only Indian selected for an internship that involved working with the White House, Pentagon, IMF & World Bank during the George W Bush administration, while at university.









Prashanth Achar, CEO, GP Petroleums Ltd brings with him over 30 years of experience and specialization in the automotive and lubricant industry, across diverse roles - sales, marketing, strategy, business development and integration within the Asia & Pacific landscape. Prior to joining GP Petroleums, Prashanth had a 25 years-long innings at BP/ Castrol and 5 years at Tata Motors.

Over the past 9 months, Prashanth has been driving cultural change and building an open, transparent, and respectful organization. Having completed driving operational excellence, restructuring, and inculcating performance culture, he is now busy working on ‘people as agenda’ to ensure the two-level leadership hopper is up to the brim for making GPPL future ready.

Prashanth is a Digital native and has brought about a Digital-transformation in GPPL during Covid-times ensuring manpower productivity was high as all staff continued to work-from-home. This has helped the organization deliver robust business recovery faster than many peers.








Raghunandan Jagdish, CEO & Director, Nandan GSE Pvt Ltd, is a graduate of the world famous Texas A&M University, Raghunandan is as comfortable with designing cutting edge solutions for customers as he is with a strategy for productivity enhancement. After joining the business at a young age of 23, he worked up the ranks from all the departments and is today commanding the respect of the employees, vendors and customers alike. Customers have come to swear by the consultative approach where he takes on their problem as his own and solves them in the most elegant manner.
