MHUA TO BUILD 5.45 LAKH HOUSES UNDER PMAY

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MHUA) has cleared construction of 5.45 lakh more affordable houses under its flagship PMAY(Urban), entailing investment of Rs. 31,003 crore, with central assistance of Rs. 8,107 crore. Approval was given at 29th meeting of Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee. Andhra Pradesh is sanctioned over 1.42 lakh houses in 31 cities/towns entailing Rs. 9,919 crore; Uttar Pradesh 1,20,645 houses in 282 cities/towns entailing Rs. 5,076 crore; Karnataka 1,18,646 houses in 65 cities entailing Rs. 6,870 crore; Madhya Pradesh 1,00,341 houses in 165 cities/towns entailing Rs. 4,232 crore’ and Jharkhand 30,486 houses in 31 cities/towns entailing Rs. 3,837 crore. Chhattisgarh is sanctioned 29,703 houses in 124 cities/towns entailing Rs. 911 crore; Arunachal Pradesh is sanctioned 2,822 houses in six cities entailing Rs. 157 crore.

 

 

STERLITE TECH WINS WBA SMART AWARD

Sterlite Technologies Ltd, global technology leader in smarter digital networks, has won Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) Industry Award 2017, for successful deployment of India’s First Live Smart Services City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Sterlite has turned Gandhinagar into India’s Wi-Fi Capital City; it spearheaded design, development and management, of Gandhinagar Smart City project offering innovative citizen-centric services. The award was presented at recent Wireless Global Congress held in New York. HDFC-ADIA JV TO INVEST $500 MILLION IN AFFORDABLE HOUSING

A joint investment platform of Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), will commit over $500 million (Rs. 3,175 crore) by March to affordable and housing projects across India. The $1 billion+ sovereign fund has contributed $900 million, has identified key projects in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Rajasthan for the deployment. Developers include Godrej Properties, Mahindra Lifespace Developers, Signature Global, Radius Developers, Rustomjee Group and Acme Group.

 

 

JSW STEEL LAUNCHES EVERGLOW

JSW Steel has launched JSW Everglow, steel product in Kerala. Its aluminium zinc coating, super durable polyester (SDP) paint coating and bottom color paint coating, makes it uniquely positioned for interior aesthetics and strong roofing solutions. The company has leveraged its technological capabilities to build a strong value-added steel product portfolio. It offers innovative products across a range of applications including home appliances, solar industry and automotive industry. JSW Everglow is part of company’s portfolio-building plan focused on roofing and wall segments.

 

 

TN TO INVITE SMART TENDERS

Tamil Nadu (TN), government will soon float tenders for 37 projects estimated at Rs. 1,795 crore under the Smart City Scheme, drinking water, sewerage and storm water drains will be prioritised, according to an official press release. Another 119 schemes worth Rs. 11,134 crore are under detail planning stage. Under AMRUT scheme, tenders worth Rs. 1,823 crore for 145 projects, including, parks, sewerage and drinking water will be floated. A water project worth Rs. 1079.89 crore to increase capacity of 150 MLD Nemmeli plant is also planned. Detailed planning for projects worth Rs. 3,505.97 crore is under way.

 

 

ALTICO CAPITAL DEPLOYS Rs. 1,250 CRORE ON REALTY PROJECTS

NBFC Altico Capital, promoted by Clearwater Capital, Abu Dhabi Investment Council and Varde Partners, recently deployed Rs. 1,250 crore across five deals in Hyderabad and Pune.

Altico invested Rs. 500 crore across two deals with Hyderabad’s Phoenix Group to construct and develop IT SEZ projects, Rs. 375 crore with Marvel Group-Pune for a bouquet of projects, Rs. 240 cr with Pharande Group for developing township project and Rs. 130 crore with Mumbai-based Jatia group for their residential project.

 

 

EMBASSY TO CAPTIALISE ON ROBUST DEMAND IN CHENNAI

Embassy Group will launch office realty and logistics and industrial warehousing projects in Chennai, to capitalise on robust demand in these segments. Over next five years it will offer over 20 million sq ft of fully-managed industrial parks in India. It will also kick off second phase of its Embassy Residency project. It will launch about 1,000 apartments shortly at Sholinganallur in south Chennai.

The first parcel of one million sq ft at Embassy Splendid Tech Zone SEZ is due for completion before year-end. A total 4.5 million sq ft is planned on 30 acres at Thoraipakkam-Pallavaram Radial Road. Current lease rates of there are around Rs. 75/sq ft compared with Rs. 50 a couple of years back.
