Conference on Next Gen Infrastructure


EXCON 2017- the 9th International Construction Equipment and Construction Technology Trade Fair will be held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre from 12-16 December 2017 at Bangalore, it is among largest such exhibitions in Asia and largest such event in South East Asia. It will showcase a wide variety of Equipment, Technology, and Products, all focused on efficiency, productivity, environment, and safety.


Coinciding with EXCON 2017, a one-day Conference on Next Gen Infrastructure will be held on 13th December 2017 at the venue BIEC Complex. Conference is being organised by Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (ICEMA), an affiliate to Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Conference Theme


The Conference will deliberate on is ‘Scalable and sustainable infrastructure building in an era of disruptive technology’





The conference will explore how Indian infrastructure and equipment industry can transform itself in the era of disruption with an eye for scalability, sustainability, nation building, and customer value. While the opportunity for India is significant, it would require a determined and effective execution of development plans to emulate other successful high growth countries.

Conference will focus on challenges in accelerating infrastructure growth in India and exploring impact of future technologies on its construction equipment industry. It will have the following sessions:



Session 1: Government Projects – The Key Enabler


India’s infrastructure sector is poised for a quantum growth with increasing demand to develop key infrastructure projects like roads and highways, railways, urban infrastructure, metro rail projects, ports and airports, industrial corridors, irrigation, etc. The session looks at key segments (Roads, Railways and Irrigation), their opportunities and regulations which have a potential to boost country’s infrastructure and its Make-in-India vision.



Session 2: Infra Development – Voice of Customers


Modern day customers now expect more from businesses. More than branding, customers experience drives the visibility. With exponential growth in technologies, companies who adapt and innovate will survive in a business environment turning more competitive than ever. Customer experience also hinges upon regulatory environment and financing landscape. The session dwells upon customer expectation from OEMs, Regulators, and Financiers.



Session 3: Future Technologies – Its impact on construction equipment industry

From 3D printed and new age contraction material, autonomous equipment, driverless equipment, Internet of Things, Robotics, to roads that charges batteries as cars run on them; technology is re-shaping the way we look at infrastructure building. These technologies are here to stay, grow, and disrupt our way of life. The session delves into such emerging technologies and explores their impact on construction equipment industry.



Who Should Attend


Senior officials from key industry sectors such as Roads and Highways, Power Sector, Urban Construction, Bridge Construction, Housing, leading construction companies would take part in this programme. Representatives from concerned Government organizations, ARAI, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Heavy Industries, would also take part.


CEO and senior officials from the mining and construction equipment industry, leading consultancy organisations, financial institutions, students and academia pursuing engineering and infra related disciplines, professors, researchers, etc. will also take part in the Conference.
