Smart technology and innovative features in your products.

JCB machines are one of the most innovatively designed and technologically advanced products in the industry. It is our continual endeavour to innovate and offer machines that provide maximum value to our customers.  Apart from manufacturing the most productive, efficient, and reliable machines, JCB has also taken special cognizance of the safety of the operators and invested heavily in delivering machines which have the best operator’s environment.

For instance, the JCB ecoXcellence Backhoe Loader, one of the most widely used construction equipment in India, offers the best-in-class cabin experience. The cabin is 20per cent more spacious with the option of air conditioning. It provides 20 per cent more space for operator’s belongings and provides more leg space. Similarly, our revolutionary range of Material Handling equipment and large machines such as Excavators come fitted with advanced safety features to ensure operator safety at site. The JCB 220LC Xtra is equipped with features such as unique “2 Go” system to ensure the safe start of machine operation.

While the cab offers excellent all round visibility, three mirrors have been provided to aid visibility to avoid accidents and damage to the machine. The cab front is protected by a mesh guard while the underbelly of the lower frame has an additional guard for the protection of hydraulic components.

Some of the key safety features that are being offered in JCB Telehandlers are ROPS/FOPS cabin, Load movement indicator with alarm, Hose burst check valves, Stabilisers, Four-wheeled drive for better traction, Great visibility from within the cabin, Robust structures.

Moreover, one of the noteworthy features in our range of machines is JCB Livelink. We innovated and introduced “Livelink,” an advanced machine monitoring technology which not only gives users the location of their equipment, but also relay back all machine related information in real time.

The JCB Livelink strives to deliver constructive, real-time information to increase profits and improve productivity. All stakeholders can access information such as fuel consumption, ideal time, machine location, fluid levels, and service alerts, on their mobile devices or laptops using the internet. All JCB customers with Livelink enabled machines get SMS alerts on their mobile phones or smart devices regarding service, operations, and security of their machines. This data is stored over a period of time and gives vital information to the customer in terms of number of hours the machine has been operational, service intervals, fuel levels, malfunctions if any, etc. Geo fencing and Time fencing features also give out SMS alerts whenever the machine moves out of the designated, pre-determined geographical areas. This feature also works when the machine is being operated beyond the time that the customer has preset.

Livelink has significantly helped in better fleet management of JCB products for our customers. It has also resulted in our product support network being able to provide world class support through preventive maintenance. JCB India is the first manufacturer in the Earthmoving and Construction Equipment industry to introduce Internet of Things at this scale. Today, over 45,000 Livelink enabled JCB machines are successfully working in India.

After the recently launched initiatives to modernise India’s infrastructure, is the road construction market finally coming into shape? How is JCB geared to leverage opportunities?

Infrastructure sector is one of the core sectors of the Indian economy and thus, hold immense importance in the overall growth of the country. Government’s concerted efforts in the past three years through various policy reforms, programmes, and budget announcements, have played a key role in the revival of the Infrastructure sector and the Earthmoving and Construction Equipment (ECE) sector.

This growth currently is primarily driven by the Roads and Highways, closely followed by key sectors such as Railways, Irrigation, Mining, Affordable Housing etc. There is a requirement for building a world class road network in India, both in the urban and rural parts of the country. Significant allocation in successive budgets coupled with Government’s focused approach towards the sector has led to considerable growth in the sector.  Moreover, construction of 83,667 kilometres of highways under the Bharatmala project and recpatilisation of banks through record capital infusion of `2.11 lakh crore over two years will give a boost to the economy.  At JCB, we are fully geared up with our world class range of equipment to leverage the opportunity. Today, we offer a range of Large Excavators starting with the JS205LC (20T Tracked Excavator) to the JCB 220LC Xtra (22T Tracked Excavator) to the JCB305LC (30T Tracked Excavator).

In addition, we currently offer the finest range of Compactors through these three variants - the recently introduced JCB116 (11T Soil Compactor), the VMT860eco (9T Tandem Roller) and the VMT330 (3.3T Mini Tandem Roller).

Also, product support plays a crucial role in the overall buying cycle of an Earthmoving and Construction Equipment. We have set-up the largest product support network in the industry over the years with 63 dealers and 650 outlets. These outlets are spread across India, employing over 6,000 trained professionals to cater to different customer requirements.

JCB also introduced an advanced telematics technology called Livelink which allows the user to remotely manage their machines.
