SEMBCORP WINS WIND POWER PROJECT

Sembcorp Green Infra has received a letter of award for the project following the country’s first national wind power tender, conducted by Solar Energy Corp of India, an entity under India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Total project cost is estimated to be around Rs.1900 crore to be funded through a mixture of internal funds and debt. The project will be in Tamil Nadu and connected to India’s Central Transmission Utility. The project’s entire output will be sold to Power Trading Corporation under a 25-year long-term power purchase agreement. The project is expected to be developed in phases and fully commissioned in the second half of the financial year ending March 31, 2019.

 

 

NBCC BAGS MAURITIUS PROJECTS

State-owned NBCC will help develop a social housing project and construct a new Supreme Court building in Mauritius, which together cost $50 million, according to estimations. The projects agreed upon by NBCC and Mauritius Government are located at Dagotiere and Mare Tabac in Mauritius. The NBCC is Project  Management Consultant (PMC) on a "deposit work basis" and will provide various architectural services. Estimated cost of the project is $20 million.

 

 

INDIABULLS, LODHA, READYING LONDON PROJECTS

Real estate firms Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd (IBREL) and Lodha Developers Pvt. Ltd are in the process of launching projects in London, after they bought prime properties overseas during 2013-14. In May, Lodha will formally launch its Grosvenor Square project in London, once the show flat is ready. The company has already done select pre-launch sales at over £6,000 per sq. ft (Rs.5 lakh per sq. ft), one of the highest prices that any project with an Indian connection has ever achieved. Indiabulls Real Estate launched its project Hanover Bond—a collection of 80 apartments and a five-star hotel—in March, and opened bookings for customers.

 

 

GRUNDFOS OFFERS WATER TREATMENT SOLUTIONS

Denmark-based pump manufacturer Grundfos seeks opportunities in developing countries like India through its sustainable water treatment solutions. Grundfos Life Link offers new water technology solutions that solve drinking water problems and water-borne disease by treating surface water, which is largely underutilised. The company offers sustainable water solutions through its product AQPure for developing countries like India, and for Africa developed under its GLL arm.

 

 

EMAMI EYES LONDON RENOVATION

South City Projects (Kolkata) Ltd, is considering a proposal to renovate old buildings in London. It is also looking to develop residential projects in Dubai. The consortium’s maiden overseas venture is a project in Sri Lanka, which is slated to be handed over in 2019, with close to 60 per cent of the sales already complete. Emami Infrastructure introduced its foray into Coimbatore with the launch of Emami Aerocity. The project site at Kalapatti is spread over 62 acres and contains 929 DTCP-approved plots. Emami has invested Rs.150-160 cr in the project.

L&T BAGS MEGA PROJECT

The Power Transmission and Distribution Business of L&T Construction has won its single largest order in the Middle East from their esteemed customer ‘KAHRAMAA’ - Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation -for its ongoing Qatar Electricity Transmission Network Expansion Plan-Phase XIII. Through this ambitious project, KAHRAMAA intends to expand the existing power transmission network to meet the ever-increasing demand for power due to the developmental works in the State of Qatar. The prestigious USD 817 Mn order will involve the EPC of 30 new Gas Insulated Substations of varying voltage levels of 220 kV, 132 kV and 66 kV and approximately 560 km of 132 kV and 66 kV underground cables under various definite and framework packages. The works of the project are spread all over the State of Qatar including both freshly developed as well as already developed areas. The project is scheduled for completion in phases from 15 to 32 months.

 

 

SAUDI ORDER FOR PUNJ LLOYD INFRA

Infrastructure major Punj Lloyd’s subsidiary has bagged an order worth Rs 312 crore from Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) in Saudi Arabia, the company said today. The Dayim Punj Lloyd Construction Contracting Company (DPLL), a subsidiary of the Punj Loyd Group, has been awarded an EPC contract in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, worth Rs 312 crore, by the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company Ltd (YASREF) in Saudi Arabia according to filing at the BSE by Punj Lloyd. With this order, the Punj Loyd Group’s order backlog stands at Rs.19,929 crore.
