Ticker Tape - Equipment

Digger manufacturer JCB has launched a new five section telescopic boom - 540-200 – which offers customers the benefit of added height. At 66 ft. (20 m) lift height the Loadall is the highest reaching in the company’s range. It is reported the 540-200 comes with a Tier IV Interim driveline and is powered by JCB's Ecomax diesel engine, delivering 109 hp (81 kW), up from the previous 100 hp (74.5 kW) edition. The telescopic boom has been specifically designed for construction using lighter, stronger materials to achieve maximum lift capacities within the operating envelope. The five-section boom minimizes the overall length of the machine, with the same wheelbase as JCB's smaller 55 ft. 9 in. (17 m) machine, allowing manoeuvrability in confined sites

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has inaugurated its world-class North American Customer Centre in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. This marks the company’s $100 million investment at its Pennsylvania facilities announced in 2011. Two new Kleemann mobile jaw crushers have been introduced in the North American market featuring the new EVO technology. The two new crushers are the Mobicat MC 110 Ri EVO and the MC 110 Zi EVO. While the MC 110 Ri EVO has a vibratory feeder with integrated grizzly, the MC 110 Zi EVO incorporates a vibrating feeder with an independent, double-deck, heavy-duty prescreen. Both feature a crusher inlet of 28 by 44 in. Both machines have been completely redesigned with a lighter transport weight to ease portability. The two new mobile crushers will expand Kleemann's popular EVO Contractor Line of crushers. The new Mobicat EVO series has been redesigned from scratch, thus allowing the combination of new features such as the hopper walls integrated in the chassis.

JLG Industries Inc. has introduced technology and styling upgrades to its entire line of SkyTrak telehandlers. One of the major upgrades is single joystick operation with pilot-operated hydraulics. This contributes to enhanced multifunction capability and reduced operator fatigue. The upgraded JLG telehandlers also feature improved boom speeds for greater productivity. Additional performance benefits include a Cummins 3.8L Tier IVF engine, which provides plenty of horsepower while improving fuel efficiency and reducing the machine's environmental impact.

First-time exhibitors SIMUL8 Construction are all set to launch their new ACREOS Rigid Dumper training simulation software at the Queensland Mining & Engineering (QME) Exhibition. The ACREOS Rigid Dumper simulation software provides mine site personnel with a series of exercises that teach them how to use the different controls of a rigid dump truck and acquire the appropriate driving skills to operate this machine. SIMLU8 Construction's ACREOS simulator’s training is designed to educate operators on how to operate more safely, efficiently, cost-effectively by reducing fuel costs, equipment breakages, ongoing maintenance and operating costs.
