Pre-Event Report- Concrete Show India 2017

Shaping Infrastructure, Constructing Opportunities

Organised by UBM India, Concrete Show India will showcase the best practices and newest technologies in Concrete, Construction Machinery, Construction Chemicals, Concrete Flooring, Building Automation, Construction Software and Instruments.

With the government increasing focus on infrastructure development, the construction and infrastructure sector is drawing immense attention from the country’s top policy makers. As the country gears to build new infrastructure and housing projects, the use of concrete and allied construction equipments is expected to progressively increase. This will give a significant boost the entire construction & infrastructure value chain in India.  The growing number of projects across infrastructure segments including roads and highways, bridges, ports and airports, railways and power has enhanced the scope of business for manufacturers and suppliers of Concrete, Construction Equipments and allied products. The economic requirements today dictate faster construction and minimisation of turnaround time & labour costs, thus increasing the demand for precast concrete products and technologies in India. The use of precast technology is expected to change the face of Indian economy by speeding up the course of action across various infrastructure projects. Expansions of Metro and monorail routes across various Metro’s, Tier I and Tier II cities in India is one  example of the utilisation of such products coming in to increasing play.

Every construction and infrastructure project demands the use of a variety of building materials, equipments and tools. Given the scope of work and projects at hand, India now represents an enormous opportunity for end customers and companies who are involved in building the nation’s infrastructure.

Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and Shipping, has announced the government’s target of Rs.25 trillion ($376.53 billion) investment in infrastructure over a period of three years, which will include Rs.8 trillion ($120.49 billion) for developing 27 industrial clusters and an additional Rs.5 trillion ($75.30 billion) for road, railway and port connectivity projects. The record allocation of Rs.221,246 crore ($33.07 billion) by the Government of India for several infrastructure projects in Union Budget 2016-17, is expected to provide significant boost to the Indian infrastructure sector.

This unique situation has demanded the need for an industry expo like Concrete Show India that specializes in showcasing products and technologies in Core Construction & Infrastructure for India. The 5th edition of Concrete Show India will be held between 4-6 May, 2017, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai. Exhibitors from China, Italy, Germany, Turkey India and many more have already confirmed their participation. Decision makers, end users and influencers from well known infrastructure, projects and housing companies have been slated to attend the expo and technical conference. The show has received massive industry support through participation from industry bodies including Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA), Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), AUMA, Construction Chemicals Manufacturers Association (CCMA), Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), Indian Society of Structural Engineers (ISSE), Ready Mixed Concrete Manufacturers' Association (RMCMA) and others.

Some of the featured exhibitors include brands like WAM, Atlas Copco, Skyway RMC, Godrej, Masa, Vollert, Elematic among others.

The show will feature conferences to showcase the industry’s current status and   the challenges ahead. The conference will deliberate and discuss a wide range of topics like green buildings, high rises, automation, infrastructure projects in metropolitan cities, latest technologies, solutions for concrete road design and construction, tactics to improve and maintain concrete quality, sustainability, and many more. The expo will also feature workshops meant for working civil engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, project managers and other construction professionals.
