Our machines are known for its consistent operation, tough performance and quick investment returns

Bauma marked the launch of SDLG’s two new units designed specifically to meet India’s emerging demand for road building equipment. The company recently won the award for 2nd Best Energy Efficient Machine at CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2016. SANU GEORGE, BUSINESS HEAD, SDLG INDIA spoke to PANJAMI VIVEK about the cost effective, reliable products launched during bauma Conexpo 2016 and some of its lucrative features.

Could you give us a quick overview of the Indian Market?

The Indian market is growing at an unprecedented pace. It is clearly surpassing the progression we happened to observe in 2007-09. The investment in road construction has clearly taken the market up. The other segments we cater to, like mining for instance is clearly overpowered by the road construction segment.

Can you enlighten us about the brand you represent and it’s USP’s

We have positioned SDLG as a value brand. We cater to the segment that seeks value products. The target customers of this segment consider initial costs and reliability. It is a competitive equipment and we offer these two pre-requisites. We are a brand noted for being one of the leading manufacturers of construction equipment in China that manufactures about 45,000 units a year. They have most of the products like wheel loaders, excavators, compactors, back-hoe loaders and graders. We have strategically launched only two products in India. One is the loader and the other is the grader. So we complement both offerings from Volvo and SDLG. We have launched two new products, a variant of grader and a variant of loader. The USPs of them are in how different they are from other Chinese manufacturers. We have well considered, chosen components for the Indian market. Like for instance, we use the prime mover, Duetz engine in all our products and it is Tier 3 to meet India emission norms. Then our equipment is facilitated with the ECO MODE which enables its users to have fuel efficiency. We use components, however expensive like ZF transmission etc... These factors improve the reliability of the product. We have been well received by the market and have been able to grow 20 to 30 per cent year on year.

How would you assess shows like bauma?

This is a platform to build a brand, an opportunity to launch products and definitely we look forward to our customers returning and new customers walking in for business.

Have you launched new products during bauma?

The first product is the G9138 Motor Grader. Our machines are known for its consistent operation, tough performance and quick investment returns and this grader offers all this. It is highly manoeuvrable machine enabling the operator efficient control through a fully digitised panel that includes electronic monitoring which also allows forthright inspection and maintenance. It allows for close-quarter work and is durable and easy to operate for a lifetime. It’s overall working weight is 12,000 kg and it powered by a Deutz BF4M1013-15T3R/2 engines that has an output of 111 kW at 2100 rpm. These are just a few of its features amongst many other attractive and lucrative ones.

The second is a new variant of 3ton wheel loaders namely the L933L.

What would be your company’s future plans?

We hope to cater to specific requirements and timely needs of our customers. So our future plans are to launch products that can add value to our customers.

Winner of 2nd Best Energy Efficient Machine Award at construction opportunities excellence awards 2016

L933L WHEEL LOADER:

At bC India the company introduced the new L933L. Equipped with a Weichai Deutz WP6G125E331 turbocharged engine, the 3 ton-rated L933L satisfies the regional requirements for emissions levels in India,

while offering users reliable performance and excellent durability. With a power output of 92kW at 2,300 rpm, the L933L can handle material handling tasks with ease while its maximum grade ability is 30

degrees. Overall working weight for the unit is 10,200 – 10,250 kg and the machine can deliver up to 96 kN of breakout and traction force. Its steep 45 degree dump angle and high 45 degree bucket rollback allows for more efficient load carrying and quicker cycle times. Bucket options for the loader vary from 1.4 m3– 3 m3, and the design includes a thickened anti-friction plate which minimises cutting resistance. The load-sensing fully-hydraulic system reduces power consumption and improves working efficiency through the use of a single-pump design. The enlarged radiator also optimises the use of inlet and outlet air channels to lower the temperature of water and oil in the hydraulic system, making the machine highly energy efficient and reliable. Aside from high energy efficiency, the L933L offers ease of operation through a fixed-shaft power shift transmission. This offers four forward and two reverse gears with a single-stage, single-phase three element hydraulic torque converter. The axis-fixed semi-automatic transmission makes full use of the engine’s power toincrease torque and deliver greater traction. The single-plate rear frame and a four-plate front frame uses joint bearings to ensure flexible operation and a small turning radius.
