Chemical Czar

 

Sanjay Bahadur has had a long and illustrious career in the construction business and allied industries. The 51-year old who started his career as a site engineer with L&T's ECC Construction, further went on to become Managing Director, Aeons Construction Products in 1989 before heading Unitech Prefab Ltd as its Managing Director in 1993.  Bahadur joined Pidilite Industries Ltd. in 2003 as a CEO. In 2007 he went on to head ACC Concrete Ltd as Managing Director till 2008, post which he became a practicing management consultant. He joined Pidilite Industries Ltd. in October 2010 as Global CEO, Construction Chemicals, Pidilite Industries. Bahadur has to his credit several published papers and has received the ICI Award for outstanding service to Concrete Technology in the year 2000. Last year, he was conferred with the prestigious ‘Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa)’ by Singhania University in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan by virtue of eminence attained in the field of civil and construction engineering.

 

 

 

Tech Guru

 

Nirmalya Chatterjee has been heading the business unit of ‘Tekla India Pvt Ltd’, the sister concern of Tekla Corporation, Finland, as COO & Director. He has been serving the Finnish company, now a part of the $2 billion Trimble Group, for the last eight years, and is one of the founder members of the company’s India operation. Chatterjee, together with his team of 30 professionals, has been instrumental in the three-fold business growth of Tekla India in the last four years, and its expansion throughout the SAARC. Prior to working with Tekla, Chatterjee has been associated with firms from the UK and US, and has helped them establish their operations in India. He has been at the forefront of promoting the latest BIM (Building Information Modelling) technology solution ‘Tekla Structures’, which addresses the entire life cycle needs of a construction project. With a background in engineering and management, Chatterjee is passionate about new and high end technology and their implications for the relevant industries. He has been invited on various platforms to debate on the latest engineering and construction productivity mechanisms.

 

 

Steel Woman

A multi-faceted personality, Radhika Markan, Managing Director of H&K Rolling Mill Engineers Pvt. Ltd, is the latest entrant in the Indian steel industry. In a short span of less than three years she has already made her mark. Under her leadership, H&K India has embarked on many management initiatives including new business development, building skill sets of second-generation engineers, client relationship-building programmes, introducing checks-and-balances in project execution, and re-pricing of products and services. Markan is admired for her media management skills – a quality that assists her in brand building exercises for THERMEX, the proprietary Quenching and Self Tempering technology licensed by H&K India – robust international experience, deft project execution capabilities, strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills and charming personality. Markan has been appointed CEO, Thermex Rebar Manufacturers’ Association (TRMA), and Director, India Chapter of American Concrete Institute (ICACI).

 

 

 

Gear God

 

PL Muthusekkar, Managing Director,  Nord Drivesystems holds an engineering degree in mechanical engineering and a post graduate diploma in marketing management. He has 26 years of rich experience of sales and marketing, general management, factory management and P&L. He has previously worked as Regional Head, Kirloskar, AGM,   Triveni Engg, Factory Manager and Country Manager for Siemens - Flender Graffenstaden and SBU Head for Bonfiglioli before joining Nord Drivesystems Pvt Ltd in the year 2011. He is also a member of the GLC Council. Except for a brief stint he has spent most of his working life in the gear industry in areas ranging from high speed turbo gears to all types of gear boxes and geared motors catering to a wide spectrum of industry like marine, locomotive, power, material handling etc.  He believes ‘’Business in the true sense is building customer relationships, brand and also in the process make money’’
