ZUARI SETS UP CEMENT TERMINAL AT KOCHI

 

Zuari Cement Limited is setting up the largest port based cement packing terminal at Kochi Port Trust, Ernakulam wharf. The unit will have a capacity of 1 million tonne of cement per annum, expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2015. This plant envisages an investment of 15 million euros and will be strategically a very important investment in India. The Kochi terminal will cater to Zuari Cement's market expansion plans in southern India and possible exports. The strategic location of the unit will add an edge to the expansion of our services to different parts of the country through inland navigation and the shipping channel. The ground-breaking ceremony was held on 22 April 2014. 

 

 

 

HCC BAGS Rs 300 CR DMRC CONTRACT

 

 Hindustan Construction Company has won a Rs 300 crore contract for the design and construction of a section of the Delhi Metro from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. The work relates to the construction of a 1.54 km long twin tunnel on the Dwarka-Najafgarh metro corridor. This is the third contract received by HCC since October 2012 under phase III development of Delhi Metro aggregating to Rs. 1,539 crore. 

 

 

 

GODREJ PROPERTIES FOR BENGALURU TOWNSHIP

 

Real estate major Godrej Properties today has entered into a partnership to develop a 100-acre township in Bangalore. The project, in which the partner has not been named, will be developed as an integrated township with a mix of residential unit types as well as a school, convenience retail, and other amenities. It is expected to offer a potential saleable area of about 9.4 million sq ft. This will be the company’s third township project after its projects in Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The company is currently developing residential, commercial and township projects spread across 95 million sq ft in 12 cities.

 

 

 

ARIHANT FOR RS 175 CR LUXURY PROJECT AT FARIDABAD 

 

The Arihant Group has outlined plans to invest Rs 175 crore for the construction of a luxury housing project at Surajkund near Faridabad over the next three years. The project will come up on a 1.65 acre land the company had purchased in an auction for about Rs 60 crore. The project will have contain two 12-storey towers having a total 72 units. The project will be funded through bank debt and sales advances from customers. It is reported the company has obtained all the necessary approvals from the authorities. Construction work on the project is set to begin in the coming two months.

 

 

 

AMBUJA INVESTMENT TO RAISE PLANT CAPACITIES 

 

 Ambuja Cements is looking to invest Rs 802 crore in 2014 from internal accruals for raising capacities at its various plants.  The cement major is currently setting up three greenfield plants of 1.5 mtpa capacity each in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh besides adding clinker capacity in West Bengal and Rajasthan by 0.8 mtpa each. The company will reportedly will invest up to Rs 3,500 crore for setting up the 3 new plants. The expansion at Sankrail project is slated to cost Rs 325 crore which has 27.25 million tonne per annum (mtpa) capacity.

 

 

 

IRB BAGS NHAI PROJECT

 

IRB Infrastructure Developers has bagged a Rs 3200 crore project from the National Highways Authority of India The scope of work relates to the widening of 190 km of the Yedeshi-Aurangabad section of National Highway 211 in Maharashtra into four lanes. To be executed as a build-operate-transfer project, the construction time is 910 days and the concession period is 26 years. It is reported the project was awarded after the government agreed to provide a grant, or viability gap funding, of Rs 558 crore to the developer for the project.

 

 

 

IL&FS ENGG RECEIVES LOI FOR RS 175 CR PROJECT

 

IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited has received a Letter of Intent from Ireo Private Limited for construction of a luxurious residential project in  Gurgaon. The prestigious 'Gurgoan Hills' luxury residential project has six towers – 20-26 storey – with a total built-up area of around 1.77 million sq ft. The scope of work includes construction of civil, structural, internal finishes  boundary wall, external development works for the project, and management, coordination, and supervision works for electrical low side, IT/LV, plumbing, fire fighting, HVAC, basement ventilation, gas piping, water treatment plant, swimming pool, water bodies including basements underneath works and other associated works of the project. The total value of the project is Rs. 175.80 crore. The project is expected to be completed in 39 months.

 

 

 

ACME WINS KERALA GAMES VILLAGE PROJECT

 

ACME has bagged the order for constructing the 'Games Village' at XXXV National Games Kerala. The company which is an important player in green technology solutions won the bid at Rs. 36.57 crore.

The scope of  work involves construction of housing units in the Games Village using PUF based Prefab Technology in EPC mode, covering design, supply, transportation, erection at the site including internal services. The facility will be spread over 28 acres of land belonging to Kerala SIDCO in Menamkulam and will house approximately 5000 persons.
